Dr. Kristina Gilbert
Dr. Gilbert graduated from the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. After a year in private practice, she went to Auburn University to complete a residency in Theriogenology (veterinary reproduction). Following the residency, she moved to Wisconsin, where she practiced from 2002 until 2009. Dr. Gilbert's extensive experience with ultrasonography in her residency aids her special interests of reproduction, cardiology, and internal medicine. Dr Gilbert has done a number of reproductive talks for the Columbia Kennel Club. She and her family (including two black Labradors!) moved here in April 2009 and purchased Lexington Animal Clinic. In her free time she enjoys swimming, boating, and jet-skiing on Lake Murray, camping, and gardening. Dr. Gilbert is a past President and Vice President of the Greater Columbia Association of Veterinarians.
Dr. Kari Rosmer
Dr. Kari Rosmer earned her BS in Biology from the University of South Carolina. She then attended and received her DVM from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. After graduation, she worked at a small animal practice in Columbia until she joined our team at Lexington Animal Clinic. Kari and her husband Rich are proud parents of their son, Jacob. Also a part of the family are two cats; Rusty and Peanut. She enjoys traveling with her family and outdoor activities such as boating, camping and rafting.
Joe is our Practice Manager and is responsible for our day-to-day operations, human resources and accounting. His previous business experience includes account management and marketing. Joe and Kristina live in Lexington with their son Brian and two black labs who love Lake Murray. The best part of Joe's job is knowing he helps to make sure Lexington Animal Clinic can offer exceptional care to the furry family members that they care for.
Courtney is our Administrative Assistant who attended Saluda High School and graduated top 15 in her class. She graduated from Piedmont Technical College in 2015 with an Associates Degree in Business Management. She enjoys horse back and four-wheeler riding, camping, hunting of all kinds and being on the lake as much as possible. Courtney and husband (Cory) were recently married and are currently remodeling a house they purchased in Saluda. They have 5 dogs: 2 Pomeranians (Peanut and Foxy), 2 Treeing Walker Hounds (Fancy and Hash), 1 Plott Hound (Skyy) and a cat (Sundae).
Akeba is our Client Service Specialist (Reception). She is a friendly face to each client and pet as they enter our hospital and helps ensure that each visit runs smoothly and efficiently. Akeba has a Bachelor Degree in Health Care Administration, concentration management. She entered the veterinary field with the desire to work in health care, but also with animals. She has worked in veterinary emergency and specialty medicine for almost 3 years before joining the Lexington Animal Clinic team. Her passion is superior client service and being a client advocate. In her spare time; she loves family time, movies, gardening, cooking and learning new things. Akeba, her husband, their four children and 4 fur children have made Lexington home after 20 years of military service.
Mandi is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who joined our team at Lexington Animal Clinic after graduating from Piedmont Technical College in March 2015. In her spare time, Mandi spends as much time outdoors as possible and loves: camping, backpacking, caving and fishing. She and her husband live in the Irmo area where they both grew up with their cat (Beau), dog (Kira) and hamster (Frank).
Love, love Lexington Animal clinic! All staff members are accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. They will go out of their way to make sure your fur babies are well looked after and you know step by step care for any treatments. You need a quick nail trim, they try to squeeze you in, forget to call in a refill in time, they'll do their best to get it there a few days earlier.
